How To Get To Amalfi Coast
There are a couple of options to get to the Amalfi coast – you can either take the train to Salerno and then get plentiful options to reach towns on the coast, such as Vietri sul Mare, Maiori, Minori and Amalfi, by regular buses. Another way to reach the coast would be to take the train to Naples and then take direct buses to Sorrento or Salerno.
However, the most recommended and memorable way to travel to the Amalfi is definitely by driving yourself! Rent a car from the Naples airport and make your way to the coast. The one and a half hour drive will be a scenic haven, we promise!
Things To do Amalfi Coast
There is no dearth of things to do at Amalfi Coast! So many pretty coastal villages and delicious seafood await you here. But if you must, here are a few starters to get your itinerary going.
Duomo in Amalfi Town: This is one of the main towns of this region, Amalfi attracts a lot of visitors owing to its duomo, which supposedly has the remains of St. Andrew, the Apostle. Even if Biblical references do not interest you, you will surely enjoy the architecture of this ancient cathedral dating back to the 9th and 11th centuries.
The views of Ravello: This tiny town has some of the best views of Amalfi coast. Located on the top of the mountains in-between Amalfi and Maiori, this little gem is best known for its Villa Cimbrone from the 11th century. Now converted to a hotel, this beautiful villa’s garden is open to public and offers some incredible Insta worthy views.
Sorrento and Positano: These two towns of Amalfi Coast should definitely feature high on your list of to do things in the area. Sorrento offers stunning sights to walk along the coast, alongside some cultural insight with its two museums – Correale Museum and the Museo della Tarsia Lignea.
Positano undoubtedly tops the list of every visitor to the Amalfi coast and rightly so. Best viewed from a boat, Positano is as picturesque as they come. Enjoy the sun and the sea and spritz, of course!
