Tulum Mexico Travel Guide- Place You Will Never Forget

182

This destination combines culture, history and one of the best beaches in Mexico. The only archaeological site located on the seashore is the most photogenic place in the region and, perhaps, in the whole country.
Tulum was a Mayan fortress that lived its moments of glory at the end of the classic period (about 1000 AD). At the southern end of the archaeological site lies one of the most peaceful beaches. Here you won’t find any hotels with 500 rooms or a large infrastructure. On the contrary, you can rent luxurious or rustic cabins, depending on your tastes and budget.

The Beaches of Tulum Mexico

Appreciate the beauty of the beaches of Tulum. The Caribbean Sea with its turquoise and crystalline shades of water reaches the fine white sands creating a unique paradisiacal environment, where everyone would like to get lost.
The best thing about the beaches of Tulum is that they remain virgin and are away from the city bustle.

Tulum has about 9 km of coastline, completely covered with various accommodations. Unlike the large resorts that flood most of the area, here you can find small boutique hotels and cabins. All the beaches are public, although to enter some areas you would have to go through a club or a hotel.

• The Ruins Beach. To access this beach you must enter the archaeological site of Tulum and pay the entrance fee, which is not more than 40 pesos ($4). It is worth it. You can take a swim in crystal clear water, while observing the Mayan ruins at the top of the cliffs. This fact gives a touch of mystery to the beach.

• Boca Paila. The unspoilt beauty is only tarnished by some huts, where you can have a drink or buy something to eat. There are also some small hotels that don’t disturb the landscape. This beach is extremely private. That is why many people practice nudism here. There are several access points to get to Boca Paila. You can walk along the road that leads to the ruins. You can access the beach by foot through several roads. Simply walk through the jungle heading the sea.

The Ruins of Tulum Mexico

The ruins of Tulum are the third most visited in all of Mexico (after Teotiuhacán and Chichen-Itzá).
They are not the most beautiful, but they are a perfect example of some of the most well-preserved Mayan buildings in the country. This 900-year-old fortress is surrounded by a huge wall. And it is where the name Tulum came from (Tulum means wall). Many of the monuments are related to the god Kukulkán, although only one temple dedicated to this deity was found.
It is open every day from Monday to Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the last access is at 4:30 p.m.
