Tapak Tuan
Tapak Tuan is in Aceh.
Understand[edit]
Tapak Tuan is a town on the west coast of Sumatra. When traveling along the west coast of Sumatra it is well worth a stop for a night. The town is located between the mountains and the sea.
Get in[edit]
You can get to here for example from Sabuluassalam, when coming from Berastagi.
Get around[edit]
You can walk around the Main Street and along the coastal promenade within an hour or two.
See[edit]
When going from the roundabout along Jalan Merdeka straight till the end and further, you'll end up at a cafe on the coast. From there you can walk along a concrete path and over some rocks to the *footprint of the giant* after which the town is named. The panorama is well worth the 10 minutes walk. Have a coconut in the cafe on the way back.
Do[edit]
Buy[edit]
Ice cream and banana crisps are sold at the store next to the roundabout.
Eat[edit]
Drink[edit]
There are some nice, relatively stylish cafes in the city. Just walk around and you should find them.
Sleep[edit]
There are at least 6 hotels, two of them along Jalan Merdeka, the other 4 in the street going along the coast. The coastal ones are newer. The ones along Jalan Merdeka need renovation.
- Hotel Catherine. looked nice from outside
- Hotel Metro. relatively modern hotel
- Hotel Panorama. run down, but close to the center
